Fostering Creative Ideas

In celebration of the London Design Festival 2023, Sonae Arauco sponsored Spanish architect Paola Bagna with its wood-based products from the Innovus® brand. The wood-based solutions company regularly supports new talents and creative ideas that aim to make living spaces more enjoyable.

Sonae Arauco's vision is to create wood-based solutions for a better life, a better future, and a better world. To achieve this, the company not only continuously develops its products and enhances its sustainability but also promotes talents who share the same goal. The exhibition "Small Spaces in the City: Rethinking Inside the Box," curated by Clare Farrow Studio, focused on the challenges of micro-living in cities like London, Tokyo, and Berlin during the London Design Festival 2023. The participating artists, designers, and architects developed innovative solutions for small spaces that are flexible, healthy to live in, modular, mobile, and playful.

Today, those who wish to live in the city often have to adapt to small living and working spaces due to economic and housing crises. The participants in the interdisciplinary exhibition created multifunctional and sustainable concepts, micro-interiors, and transforming furniture as innovative solutions to address these challenges. The contribution of Berlin-based architect Paola Bagna was a reading seat unit made from decorative panels of the Innovus® brand in Frozen Blue L5203, provided by Sonae Arauco.

"The reading seat unit is the piece that visitors 'collect' at the end in a curved, colored, and staggered gesture, offering a point from which to view the exhibit and simultaneously the outside of the exhibition; a place for reflection and pause, at different heights. Due to its location near the building's openings, it presents itself as a structure that is permeable to light and views outside. This permeability allows books to be placed and gives the furniture a certain transparency in the exhibition context," says Paola Bagna.
